I’ve got a thing for Cortes Island. It’s one of those places that just grabs you in. My first experiences up there were at Channel Rock, where my MBA program held its orientation classes, and Hollyhock at the Social Venture Institute (SVI), a magnet for progressive, socially conscious business people. The Gathering Place Trading Company, based on Cortes, imports pure Antarctic sea salt from their family in South Africa and packages it on the Island.
