There's no shortage of gourmet destinations in Toronto, but with so much choice, it's time to pick out the best of the best.

We've been locally-sourcing snacks since 2006 and know a delicious treat when we see one. So now it's time to share them with you all! From decadent chocolate makers to French boulangeries, dessert spots, and online chocolate shops, our favourites are all here.

The best part? You can get most of these yummy treats delivered straight to your doorstep. So whether you live in Toronto, are visiting for a day, or live far across the country, get ready to drool over the top gourmet snack picks that The Six has to offer.

David Chow

If you've never tasted a David Chow chocolate, you've undoubtedly seen one on Instagram. The viral chocolate maker, who is never short on creativity, continually delights his audience with surreal designs that stand out from the rest.

David's #chowtastic chocolates have attracted over 54,000 global followers and live up in taste to the well-deserved hype. Find his chocolates in our The Megacity gift box if you want to sample some of this Toronto-based chocolatier's undeniable talents, or visit his online shop.

Mary's Brigadeiro

We've known Mary since 2019, and it's easy to see that she's on a (sweet) mission. Determined to share moments of joy and fun through delicious, handcrafted chocolates, her passion for chocolate oozes out of every bite of her unique treats.

Hailing from Brazil, Mary infuses the infectious energy of her native country into each Brigadeiro (BRE-GA-DE-RO)–a term synonymous with happiness back home. But what exactly is a Brigadeiro, you ask? It's an irresistible mixture of sweetened condensed milk, high-quality butter, pure cocoa powder, and fine chocolate. After hours of cooking, each confection is hand-rolled into fine sprinkles. The result is a little chewy, just the right amount of sweetness, and in a category all by itself! Taste them for yourself by visiting Mary's flagship store in the east end of Toronto.

Location: 1912 Danforth Ave, Toronto

Laura Slack

Toronto-based artisan chocolate maker and pastry chef Laura Slack needs no introduction. Famous for her dulce de leche chocolate skull, Laura has made her mark on T.O.'s chocolate scene, and we couldn't be more grateful!

Her seasonal goodies, like the dark chocolate peppermint patties or snowflake pop in our The Connoisseur gift box, always give us a reason to celebrate!

You'll find her beautiful treats at her Distillery District store, Maisonette, or alongside other legendary Toronto-based chocolate makers in the Sugar Beach gift box – either way, you can't lose!

Location: 12 Tank House Lane, Toronto

Nomz

With a name like Nomz, you know these will be good! This Toronto-based company makes organic, vegan and paleo snacks that have turned into one serious addiction for us. We especially love their almond energy bites that keep us going throughout the day and curb our 2pm cravings for something a little less healthy. Give Nomz a taste via our
The Sunnyside or The Torontonian gift boxes.

LaRochelle Confections

If modern-looking treats are what you're looking for, look no further than LaRochelle Confections. Pastry chef and chocolatier Karalee LaRochelle, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York City, crafts some of the finest chocolates, moulding the tasty medium into eye-catching shapes that taste just as delicious. You can find crowd-favourites like the dark chocolate buttercrunch toffee in our Sugar Beach or the C-Sweet gift boxes.

Location: 209 Wicksteed Ave Unit 32, East York

Soul Chocolate

Head over to east Chinatown's Soul Chocolate for a candid look into how a delicious chocolate bar comes together.

The smell of rich chocolate fills the air at this small chocolate maker, where you'll find co-owner Katie in the back production area hand-making every bar or treating herself.

While you're there, pair your colourfully-packaged chocolate bar with a top-notch cup of coffee. Or, if you're feeling decadent, give a chocolate shot a try! It's also good to note that all Soul Chocolate is vegan, with only cacao and organic cane sugar being used in production.

Not in the city? No problem! Enjoy Soul Chocolate's high-quality goods via our Salute to the Six or Sugar Beach gift boxes.

Bar Ape

Bar Ape, the gelato shop that got its start as a three-wheeled motorcycle has been attracting lineups for their much-loved gelato bars since 2016.

Located on Rushton, just north of St. Clair, we love stopping by to pick up the finest gelato bars, and soft serve this side of the Atlantic. Savour creative flavours like coconut toasted almond, strawberry balsamic vinegar, fugazi banana, Ontario peach, and pear and parmesan.

Location: 283 Rushton Rd, Toronto

Gouter Patisserie

Known for its flaky viennoiseries, fresh breads and rich ice creams, Gouter is a family-run patisserie, boulangerie and chocolaterie with two locations in Toronto.

Founded by Rodney Alléguède, who has previously worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris, Gouter is a must-stop for the pastry and dessert-obsessed who love rich flavours and modern twists on the classics.

It's hard to be disappointed by their luxurious Nutella or double-baked almond croissants–complete with 27 layers! Adventurous gourmet lovers will also be delighted by their special edition multi-coloured rainbow passionfruit croissant.

Ice cream flavours like milk chocolate hazelnut moka and hazelnut creme brule remind us of their addictive gianduja chocolate hazelnut dragees (found in the Kensington Market gift box). And if that doesn't hit the spot, tuck into their Paris Brest (a classic french dessert) or pick up a loaf of their sourdough bread.

Founded by Kata Ambrus, the Toronto-based chocolate maker uses only top ingredients to make her glossy chocolate bonbons. With flavours like Snickers ghost, malted crystal ball, blood orange moon, key lime pie, and taste the rainbow, every bite takes you on a culinary adventure.
